Tell me about… “

Klaipėda Ernests Galvanauskas Vocational Training Centre in cooperation with ZESPÓŁ SZKÓŁ ZAWODOWY IM. JANA LISZEWSKIEGO successfully implemented the mobility project "Tell me about..." funded by the Lithuanian-Polish Youth Exchange Fund (project No. LMF1-18).

The aim of the project is the intercultural exchange of hospitality students with special needs between Lithuania and Poland, during which 16 students (most of them with special needs) and 4 teachers will share the subtleties, innovations, trends in the hospitality sector between Lithuania and Poland, as well as the intercultural exchange of students.

On 16-21 May 2016, 8 students and 2 teachers from the Centre travelled to Poland to the ZESPÓŁ SZKÓŁ ZAWODOWY IM. JANA LISZEWSKIEGO Vocational School.

During the week-long visit, they visited vocational schools, got acquainted with the Polish Zespół Szkół Zawodowych im. They visited the activities, infrastructure, students and the hospitality training programme.

They also met a group of future employees of the Hotel. We visited the Hotel's practical training classroom. I particularly liked the fact that the Poles have large facilities for practical training. There is a separate modern Hotel room, a reception area and two large classrooms for practical training. The students demonstrated artistic towel folding on separate work tables. Lithuanian sophomores also tried their hand at it.

Participated in a discussion with Artur Mieczan, Deputy Head of the District Office, Agnieszka Brewzak, Head of the Education Department, and Wladyslaw Hruszka, Member of the Department and the Board. The dignitaries presented three of the most distinctive vocational training institutions in the district, as well as an institution for pupils with special needs. Later, they visited real workplaces, such as Warmia, Jazębinovy Ogrod and Kopernik. After the tour of the hotels, the pupils visited Frombork Pier, the Water Tower, the monument to Copernicus and the famous Cathedral of impressive beauty.

They also took part in cultural evenings. The group had an excursion to the city of Gdansk. A group of future logistics guys went along. Gdansk is a very beautiful city. Wonderful houses, many churches, the city is spacious, big, colourful. Many of the students in the group were seeing such a beautiful foreign city for the first time in their lives.
