Erasmus+ project “Safe work – a guarantee for life”

Klaipėda Ernests Galvanauskas Vocational Training Centre, together with 2 Lithuanian partners, has successfully implemented a 24-month Erasmus+ project "Safe Work-Life Guarantor", project number 2015-1-LT01-KA102-013094.

Thanks to the project, 27 students of Klaipėda Ernests Galvanauskas Vocational Training Centre, Šilutė Tourism and Services Business School, Kaunas Social Service Centre, building restorers and furniture finishers were able to undergo free apprenticeship training:

  • INFEBA, Germany;
  • NEW SERVICE in Italy;
  • TRIBEKA training lab in Spain.

During the industrial-training practice, students' practical and theoretical knowledge was improved, ensuring safe work on site and at workplaces near equipment. They learn how to effectively apply technical progress in order to protect their own and other workers' health. Because only properly trained workers, equipped with efficient and well-maintained equipment and materials, are able to work more efficiently and productively, and to bring more economic benefits.

The project has given the students new professional skills that they can apply in their future jobs. They had the opportunity to showcase their learning and exchange experiences with students from other countries. The skills acquired by the students have been credited as part of the curriculum and Europass mobility documents have been issued.

According to the students, it is a great opportunity to improve not only their professional practical knowledge, but also their social and cultural knowledge and, of course, their foreign language skills. The project makes the pupils feel more adventurous, more receptive and more free to communicate.

Project implementation period: 1 June 2015 - 31 May 2017

Project budget: €51744.
