Klaipėda Ernests Galvanauskas Vocational Training Centre has implemented the Erasmus+ funded project No 2022-1-LT01-KA121-VET-000051661.

Start date: 01/06/2022
End date: 31/08/2023
Project value: EUR 35560.00
Programme: Erasmus+
Key Action: Mobility of individuals for learning purposes
Type of action: Accredited mobility projects for learners and workers in VET

Project activities:

  • Work monitoring
  • Short-term learning mobility for learners in vocational training institutions

The project aims to:

  1. Encourage students and teachers to improve their practical skills through traineeships in other EU countries.
  2. To ensure the quality of the mobility and the effectiveness of the dissemination of the project results.4 staff and 13 students participated in the project activities and mobility visits.4 staff participated in job shadowing visits to Italy and Germany.

13 students in the modular vocational training programmes for Vehicle Repairer, Ornamental Planting and Landscaping Business Worker, Chef, Car Mechanic and Automatic Systems Operation Mechatronics undertook their traineeships in Italy, Greece and Latvia.

By acquiring new knowledge and experience, learning about other countries' methods, learning and teaching trends, teachers are able to deliver more varied and modernised lessons, and to attract and engage students in teaching and learning. The aim is to improve the quality of lessons and students' learning outcomes. After returning from observation visits and training courses, the staff of the training centre share their experience and new knowledge with the community of the training centre and with colleagues from other educational institutions in methodological groups, seminars and open lessons.

Discussions, exchanges of experiences and good practices encourage lifelong learning and increase students' motivation to learn and develop. Exposure to new teaching methods, practical applications of knowledge and technologies also increases students' employability.

The hope is that, over time, the number of pupils who do not progress or drop out of school will decrease. Pupils will learn more creatively, develop their entrepreneurial spirit, become more career-oriented and more competitive in the labour market.
