Klaipėda Ernests Galvanauskas Vocational Training Centre has successfully implemented the Erasmus+ funded project "Learn and Grow Together", project No. 2019-1-LT01-KA116-060286.
Project start date: 2019-09-01
Project end date: 2022-08-31
Project value: 91200,00 €
Programme: Erasmus+
Key Action: learning mobility of individuals
Type of action: mobility of vocational training learners and staff under the Vocational Training Mobility Charter
Project objectives:
More than 50 people took part in the project activities. 18 employees of Klaipėda Ernests Galvanauskas Vocational Training Centre participated in week-long work observation visits to Cyprus, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Bulgaria and Germany. 30 students accompanied by staff from the training centre went to Poland, Cyprus, Estonia and Italy. In the foreign countries, students from the Finishing, Carpentry, Computer Aided Design Operator, Logistics Forwarder and Massage Therapist vocational training programmes undertook 3-4 week work placements in real workplaces.

Discussions, exchanges of experiences and good practices encourage lifelong learning and increase students' motivation to learn and develop. Exposure to new teaching methods, practical applications of knowledge and technologies also increases students' employability. After returning from their training placements, the students shared their experiences in other EU countries with the Centre's community.
Teachers who have taken part in mobility visits abroad are more likely to use smart technologies and teaching materials in the classroom. By gaining new knowledge and experience, and learning about methods, learning and teaching trends in other countries, they are able to deliver more varied and modernised lessons, and to attract and engage students in the teaching and learning process. The quality of lessons has improved; pupils' learning outcomes have improved.
The hope is that, over time, the number of pupils who do not progress or drop out of school will decrease. Pupils will learn more creatively, develop their entrepreneurial spirit, become more career-oriented and more competitive in the labour market. For pupils, it is important that teachers provide information about other countries and cultures, based on personal experience, and apply the practices of organising learning acquired abroad.
