Erasmus+ project No 2019-1-LT01-KA101-060374, “Improve yourself and teach others”

Klaipėda Ernests Galvanauskas Vocational Training Centre has successfully implemented the Erasmus+ funded project "Improve yourself and teach others", project No. 2019-1-LT01-KA101-060374.

Project start date: 2019-09-01
Project end date: 2022-08-31
Project value: 28375,00 €
Programme: Erasmus+
Key Action: Learning Mobility of Individuals
Type of Action: Mobility of School Educational Personnel
Themes:

  • Quality assurance
  • ICT - new technologies - digital competences
  • Open and distance learning

The aim is to promote teacher development and openness to innovation, with the aim of achieving personal progress for each learner.

The two activities chosen for the project are :

  1. Participation in refresher courses abroad;
  2. Observation of work in a partner organisation abroad related to general education;

16 participants were selected for the project activities, having expressed their interest in acquiring new competences and improving existing ones. The participants apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the project in their daily activities, integrating them into the content of lessons and the educational process, thus encouraging learners to achieve personal progress.

In total, teachers took part in 6 different courses in Italy, Spain, Hungary and Portugal, and a work stoppage visit in Estonia.

Teachers who have taken part in mobility visits and workshops abroad are more likely to use smart technologies and teaching materials in the classroom. By gaining new knowledge and experience, and learning about methods, learning and teaching trends in other countries, participants are able to deliver more varied and modernised lessons, and to attract and engage students in the teaching and learning process. The quality of lessons has improved; pupils' learning outcomes have improved.

The hope is that, over time, the number of pupils who do not progress or drop out of school will decrease. Pupils will learn more creatively, develop their entrepreneurial spirit, become more career-oriented and more competitive in the labour market. For pupils, it is important that teachers provide information about other countries and cultures, based on personal experience, and apply the practices of organising learning acquired abroad.
