VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION

Vocational rehabilitation - restoring or improving a person's ability to work, vocational competence and capacity to participate in the labour market. These services aim to develop or restore the working capacity of people with disabilities and increase their employability.

The following may be providedrofessional rehabilitation services:

1. Vocational skills assessment - an assessment of a person's psychosocial occupational qualities and/or functional capacity (the physical qualities needed for a job) and their ability to work;
2. Vocational guidance and counselling - counselling on vocational orientation, suitability, career planning, information on training and employment opportunities, practical testing of vocational skills, support for choosing or changing a career, taking into account the individual's qualities (interests, abilities, aptitudes, inclinations), the specific characteristics of particular professions, and the training and job opportunities and labour market situation;
3. restoration of work ability or development of new work ability - the restoration of lost work ability for work and the development of existing but insufficient work ability for work and/or the development of new work ability through social, psychological, rehabilitation, work simulation (the restoration and/or training of work ability by replicating a real work process in an environment close to the actual workplace, with the appropriate tools and equipment), and other means of intervention;
4. training services - vocational training in formal and non-formal vocational training programmes and non-formal adult education in non-formal adult education programmes;
5. Accompaniment during the provision of training services - helping a person to participate in the learning process, according to their individual needs;
6. Job function adaptation - reviewing and redesigning work tasks or processes to adapt job functions to the person's abilities, and describing the adapted job functions.
