HEALTH SERVICES UNIT
The Health Services and Rehabilitation Unit implements several activities - primary education, vocational training for pupils with special educational needs, and vocational rehabilitation.
The following training programmes are available to students in the Health Services and Rehabilitation Unit:
- A modular vocational training programme for massage therapists, aimed at people who have completed their secondary education. The duration of training is 1.5 years.
- A modular vocational training programme for massage therapists, aimed at people who have completed secondary education and have a qualification. The duration of training is 1 year.
- A modular vocational training programme for nurse assistants, which is aimed at people who have completed secondary education. The duration of training is 1 year.
- A modular vocational training programme for nurse assistants, which is aimed at people who have completed upper-secondary education and hold a qualification. The duration of training is 9 months.
- A modular vocational training programme for nurse assistants, which is aimed at people who have completed their basic education. The duration of training is 2 years 3 months.
- A modular vocational training programme for paramedics, which is aimed at people who have completed secondary education. The duration of training is 2 years.
- A modular vocational training programme for paramedics, which is aimed at people who have completed secondary education and have a qualification. The duration of training is 1.5 years.
- A modular vocational training programme for pre-school teaching assistants, aimed at people who have completed secondary education. The duration of training is 8 months.
- A modular vocational training programme for pre-school teaching assistants, which is aimed at people who have completed secondary education and have a qualification. The duration of training is 7 months.
- A modular vocational training programme for assistant florists, aimed at people who have completed their primary education. The duration of training is 1 year.
- A modular vocational training programme for assistant florists, which is aimed at people with no educational requirements. The duration of training is 1 year.
The Health Services and Rehabilitation Unit is unique in its work with students with special educational needs. Pupils are supported during their education by a psychologist, a social pedagogue, a special educator, a pupil assistant and vocational teachers.
The Health Services and Rehabilitation Unit also runs a vocational rehabilitation programme for people with disabilities. The aim of vocational rehabilitation is to help the participant to regain or develop new skills needed to choose a new vocational qualification and to integrate into the labour market. It works with people with visual, hearing, mental and physical disabilities. Services are provided by a social worker, a case manager, a psychologist, a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist, a psychiatrist (on request), a sign language teacher (on request), a tiflopedagogue (on request).
Vocational training diplomas are awarded to those who successfully complete vocational training and vocational rehabilitation programmes.
