CONSTRUCTION SECTOR PRACTICAL TRAINING CENTRE

On 25 August 2022, Klaipėda Ernestas Galvanauskas Vocational Training Centre opened its Construction Sector Practical Training Centre, the most modern in Lithuania, with over EUR 3 million in European Union funds allocated for its renovation. Not only have the centre's premises been modernised, but also the latest equipment for practical vocational training has been acquired, and the vocational training process has been computerised: modern 3D printers and machine tools, a robot for furniture production operations, a mechanised painting simulator, etc.

The sectoral practical training centre offers modern construction classrooms open to businesses, higher education institutions, vocational training institutions and general education schools.

The centre will be used not only by students of Klaipėda Ernests Galvanauskas Vocational Training Centre, but also by students of other Lithuanian vocational training institutions and students of higher education institutions.

The Training Centre offers:

  • General education students and teachers to take part in hands-on technology lessons, creative workshops and educational visits.
  • Teachers at vocational training schools are invited to give practical vocational training lessons to their students and to participate in educational visits with them.
  • University lecturers and students are invited to give seminars and workshops.

Non-formal education training programmes for vocational teachers

The following non-formal education programmes are offered to improve the competences of teachers in the profession and to bring them up-to-date with modern technologies and innovative teaching methods:

  • Virtual reality simulations for painting training and artificial intelligence in finishing.
  • Digital drafting methods and tiling planning.
  • Digital furniture drawing and interior design planning.
  • Technologies for curved glulam structures. Digital materials and labour calculator.
  • Digital technologies and innovative methods for working with plaster.
